8 Box originally formed in 2006. The current lineup solidified when their first self-titled EP was recorded which included Jeff Johnson (vocals-guitars), Brian Culverhouse (drums) and Scott Smith (bass). This EP was originally sold exclusively at live performances.

Select tracks from the EP and many new tracks have been combined and remastered to form the new self-titled CD. The CD was released in March, 2008.

Still without a major label backing, the success of the band and the album has been declared an Internet phenomenon as mp3 and CD sales continue to soar.
