RadioIndy Review of Self Titled EP by Armada!
| POSTED BY: Babbbullon | POSTED ON: 16 Jun 2008 08:04 PM | ||
This self titled EP from L.A. indie-rock band Armada is a memorable artistic experience that will entertain your aggressive side, as well as your softer side. This trio uses a medley of influences to create a unique and innovative sound. They have a classic, yet modern guitar sound that will absolutely rock you. The orchestral elements mixed with the powerful and melodic vocals will intrigue you. Moreover, the arrangements are all fresh and the production nothing short of superb. Standout tracks include the opener, "Great Spectacular," which introduces the raw energy of the band, and acquaints listeners with the lead-singer's powerful, Gavin DeGraw-esque vocals. "Bruises" features an emotional and intimate vocal performance and a build that will get your heart pumping. "She Lets Us Watch Her" wraps things up nicely with a mysterious guitar riff, and effect-laden vocals that work their way into a beautiful, melodic ballad. Fans of Radiohead and Jeff Buckley will thoroughly enjoy this refreshingly energetic collection. -William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Armanda's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |
