Artist History

Catherine Mae has been saved since April 18, 1990 and has walked through many deep valleys through her life. Abuse was part of her life and was almost overcome with anorexia/bulimia until the Lord called her to Himself. Catherine knows the heartaches of divorce, being co-dependent and having a course of self-destruction set in her life. When Jesus called her to Himself, her life seemed completely out of control and totally destroyed. Once she called on the Lord, He began to restore, rebuild and renew every area that had been broken in her life. Lies of the enemy were replaced with God’s truth about who she was to HIM, and from that faithful day in April 1990, all things indeed became new. God has blessed her with the privilege of serving on a team as a teacher/praise and worship leader in three local prisons with Prison Fellowship Ministries and a cell to cell ministry on death row. Then God opened doors to minister as a mentor, worship leader and teacher a women’s prison. She and her husband also minister at the Youth Offender Program at another prison. Catherine has also ministered at the Hansen Disease Center (leprosy center), has lead Kay Author and Beth Moore Bible studies and served as worship leader at Women’s Aglow chapters in Baton Rouge, LA. Catherine’s message is that God is faithful, sovereign and uses everything we go through for His glory, for our good and to help rebuild others. We serve an awesome GOD!

Joseph puts the message best in Genesis 50:20 NIV: You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Catherine Mae has titled her recently released CD Redeemed. It describes the process of what God has done within her life. She was almost finished recording the CD when the Lord woke her at 2:00 a.m. and gave her the words and music to the signature song “Redeemed”. Each song has a testament of a new freedom that God brought her through as she journeyed with the Lord. The song “Chosen” describes how God showed her that she was indeed chosen to be His beloved before the foundations of the earth. “Butterfly” started out as a lullaby for her “step-children”. When her mother died in 2007 the Lord gave the song a new sound. It helped her realize that her mother was indeed transformed and a new creation with the Lord. “Captured” was Catherine Mae’s offering to the Lord of the gratitude that she felt for all He had done in her life. As she walked through some hard times in her life, “Hope” was birth. Reading in the book of Ephesians one day it suddenly amazed Catherine Mae that God did indeed have kind intentions toward her—and all His children—thus “Covered” was birthed. Catherine Mae was working in inner city ministry when the Lord spoke to her the words of “We Cannot Fail”! It is purposely placed in the center of the CD because if God is for us, who can be against us—we cannot fail! “Wait” was birth from a situation that happened in Catherine Mae’s life that tore her heart in two. As she prayed and listened to the Lord, He gave her the words and melody. “Freedom” came as Catherine Mae fought through some major physical illness and hard situations. It comes from the story of the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible! “Love” was written as God began to teach Catherine Mae what real Love was. “Joy” is the word that describes Catherine Mae! She is filled to overflowing with His joy which has become her strength. Last but not the least is “Belong”. Catherine Mae had finally come to the place of believing that she did indeed belong to the Lord. She had come in a complete circle back to Him! Actually she thought this was a little fun song she wrote to share her deep feelings to the Lord. As she played it in one of the prisons she then realized the power that God had placed on that little song.

Catherine Mae’s heart’s desire is that these songs would encourage and strengthen you in Jesus. That these songs would give you hope and help you to realize that you are special to the Lord! Her desire is also that you would draw closer to the Lord through the words and music of this CD and that you would realize that above all Jesus loves you!

Vocalist Catherine Mae and her latest CD, “Redeemed,” is an enjoyable collection of wonderful Contemporary Christian music. Throughout this album Mae takes her faith and hopes that with encouraging words it will fortify you as a Christian. The heartening lyrics on “Butterfly” gives a boost to the mind and spirit as the vocals sing with stunning charm. The song, “Hope,” is a soothing compilation as Mae’s voice delivers a sweet and delicate touch. The title track, “Redeemed,” reaches out to your inner soul as Mae pours her heartfelt emotions with style and grace. Your spirits will be uplifted by the beautiful songs of “Redeemed,” as this album captures the spiritual messages of the Christian faith.

Let me tell you a little about me. I love the mountains, wildlife, nature and the atmosphere of being in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My husband and I retreat to the mountains of Tennessee several times a year. The hiking and beauty there completely astonishes me fresh and anew each time we go. I use photography as a picture frame to catch glimpses of God’s majesty and parables. He has blessed me with the ability to see in nature wonderful gold nuggets that others miss. As I spend time in nature, God shares many parables with me about His way of looking at life. I have to say that I love that time with my Lord more than anything else. He teaches me to keep my eyes focused on the things above. Not so much on all the “stuff” here on this earth, which I might add, are passing away. . I also love working in my gardens when it is not blistering hot. We live in Louisiana, Walker, LA therefore the mountains are an especially great retreat when we are in the center of the summer here in LA. The rivers in Tennessee are always refreshing and stir your soul to rest and wait on the Lord.
As I walk alone trails I consider the details in each flower, tree, blade of grass, bird, and fruit all of nature and I am amazed how perfect God does things. Then I think about human beings. If He took that much care with those little things that are here today and gone tomorrow—then stop and look at youself. You are amazing! No other person on this planet has your DNA. You are a one of a kind! There will never be another you. Even as an identical twin, your personality is completely different from anyone else. All the talents and gifts that God placed inside of you are unique. Stop measuring yourself to anyone else. It cannot be done. Face it; you are special for one reason, because God made you to be you! We spend so much time trying to be like someone else when we are unique, a masterpiece created by One who loves us more than you will ever know. Just take a look at the cross of Calvary. Jesus loved you so much that He died that horrible death for you to be able to live unique and loved.
We see so many get into serious trouble because they are trying to fit into the crowd. Stop trying, you are unique. John Mason once said, “You were born an original, don’t die a copy.” We see so many precious and special youth in prison. As we get to know them, their talents and gifts begin to surface. We begin to show them that God does have a plan for their lives—and that is what they should be following. When God describes creation of man in Genesis, it is a picture of the Lord stooping down personally getting his hands dirty and involved with every part of your creation, body, soul and spirit. A Creator in love with His creation—YOU! Today dearest friend, take the time to look in the mirror and see the unique person that God created. Don’t be afraid to let God work on you—after all, you are HIS. By the way, forget your past—there is nothing you can do about it anyway. You cannot change it and dearest friend, today is a fresh new day with no mistakes in it. Start right there, clean fresh slate! That is exactly how God sees it! My dearest friends, smile, you are loved and cherished—no matter what you have walked through—today is a new day!
