She uses her voice and multi instruments to bring these forgotten songs to the modern ear. She seeks to speak for those who are not heard and those who have been silenced. "Journeys of the Wolf” springs forth from Christine’s great love of all her creature teachers, especially the Wolf. On a Vision Quest she became acquainted with two wolves, and began hearing their stories. She listened, translated, then created a vessel for music, to bring them forth. Musicians John Swana, Chico Huff, Joe Mullen and storyteller John Canan also heard the howl of the wolves. Together they translated these visions into the Musical Journey you will hear. Joe Mullen ~ extraordinary percussionist lays a sturdy yet magical foundation for this engaging story. The amazing eclectic fearless and fretless bassist Chic Huff creates a stunning vessel to hold the story lines. Virtuoso Wind player John Swana ( better known for his jazz trumpet wizardry)along with the vibrant vocalist, Christine Campbell mesmerize and complete the offering with their intertwining melodic storytelling! The hearts and hands of Anne Park, Ian Campbell, Matt Balitsaris, Michael McDonald, Connie Paolino, Kathleen Cahill, Barb Alesi, The Secret Path, Seven Stones Store and Wolf Song Drum Circles insured these songs made into CD form. “Journeys of the Wolf” is a contemporary offering of an age-old tradition – story telling. “Journeys” incorporates the tools of the tribal storyteller; drumming, singing, and narration coupled with soaring progressive music. The story moves between worlds; that of the She-Wolf, and the woman holding the vision. “Journeys” is a touching interweaving of life’s lessons thru the eyes of all these beings. It is the story of a She Wolf – her birth, her childhood, her love, and her life. In ancient story telling there was the “story” being told along with an invisible teaching imparted in the telling. The listener will soon realize that the worlds of Wolf, Woman, Musicians and Storyteller are woven together in a very fine tapestry. “Journeys” invites the audience to move beyond listener – observer, into being an engaged participant in the ceremony of life. The swirling beauty of the music coupled with compelling drumming, vibrant visual and the sometimes-stark narrative all speak to our collective soul’s search for meaning. It reminds us that; “”All have place and purpose here on Earth” and that We are all indeed One. “It takes a Community to grow a Vision”! The Wolves howl their gratitude for all who bring their songs to Light! Aho!

“Journeys of the Wolf,” Christine Campbell’s recent album release, is a narrative calling inspired by a pair of wolves and is artistically devised through the avenues of vocals and instruments. Campbell’s music is filled with narrative storytelling and gives life to the mystery of the wolf. Her vocals, whether sung or spoken, are spiritual and heartfelt, and glide ever so smoothly through her lyrical poetry. Feel the wind softly blowing past and the earthy sounds of instruments as the narrative vocal speaks gently on “Kahleneh (Light Wolf).” The strings on “Kalcheh (Wolf Eyes)” rise to a gentle crest which compliments the tender vocals peacefully singing a melodic phrase. “Journeys of the Wolf” is an album interlaced with stories and sounds of nature, which capture the message Campbell tells from her encounter with wolves. Listeners who are fans of Enya and soft, storytelling music will want to take a listen to “Journeys of the Wolf.”
