Artist History

At the age of 14, I fell into alot of depression. I had dealt with a series of rejection, hurt, and distrust in many of my peers who had claimed to be my friend. It was around that time when I began to get into music that I felt related to my situation. I would listen to rock bands like Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, The Offspring, and then later to other bands like Nirvana and Metallica. It was only a little while after that I started writing lyrics to my own songs about situations that I had gone through. I thought that it would be cool to record my own stuff on cassette tapes, through my father's keyboard, and give it out to a few people in my high school. After I gave a few people copies of my demos, it started to circle around pretty quickly. It was then that I knew I had a God given talent to write songs and play music. When I started college at Queensborough Community College, I was determined to start my own band after I picked up the guitar in late 2002. It was at QCC where I would meet my future rhythm guitarist, Carlos Bayley. We started to talk alot about music, and started thinking that it would be great to start our own group of players. Soon we met with a musician by the name of Erick Britton. Erick was very talented in playing the guitar, bass, and drums. He started out playing the lead guitar for the band, but later switched to playing bass after Julien Laniado decided to play the drums for the band. We called ourselves, Rated X. The band functioned well together for awhile until egos started to slip into the group, causing the band to break up. When the band split, I still had a desire to record music. I decided to record my own self-titled CD at Astoria Soundworks studio. I worked with two great engineers, Sam Amato and Kamilo Kratc. They got me connected to a drummer, Anthony Espinoza, to help me out with the project that I was building. Kamilo decided to play the bass for the recording of the CD. Within a day, the CD was complete with 4 really great tracks. I gave myself the nickname of DyNaMiTe as a way to give the CD a bit more edginess since the music was mostly alternative rock and progressive rock. In early 2006, I decided to record my 2nd CD, which would be entitled "LEFT ON THE OUTSIDE." Unfortunately, Anthony Espinoza had no way of helping me with the new CD due to a new baby on the way. Sam Amato left Astoria Soundworks after he moved to Maryland, and Kamilo Kratc was in the middle of setting up his new recording studio. I decided to record the CD at Multi-sound Studios in Whitestone, NY. It was there where I met with an accomplished engineer, by the name of Eugene Sackey. Unfortunately, we had to use electronic drums for the recording of this CD, but the musical compositions and songwriting were a huge maturity from the first CD. I released the "LEFT ON THE OUTSIDE" CD on December 2006 and sold it to a few loyal fans of mine. In October 2007, I reconnected with my former guitar buddies Carlos Bayley and Erick Britton (who decided to play drums for the project), along with Carlos's long time friend Jarone Wright, who played the bass, for the recording of my first seasonal CD "A DYNAMITE CHRISTMAS." The recording had a garage band sound since we did it in a rehearsal studio, but the feeling was great. Although this is a solo project, it became a band again, and a stronger band at that. We are the new generation of musicians; we are DYNAMITE DANIEL.

Music, to me, is a great way of releasing emotions of anger, sadness, happiness, and joy. We all go through hard times in this life, but we can't come to a place where we get so stressed out to the point of suicide. We all need an outlet or a way of focusing our attention on positive things; turning our eyes away from the troubles of this world. I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for giving me the talent that I can use to not only minister to myself but to others who are going through storms in their lives, as well.
