EggsheLL Egoz was formed in September of 2001 by founding members David Whitton and David Walker. The two had been milling around in other projects until brainstorming on a body of songs structuring some legs. Through cellos, saxophones, trumpets, and congas a chord hit the bones and called for Dale Vix to play bass. Dale had been a fixture in the music scene for years and brought a much needed funky edge to life. The molecules had begun to attach themselves to the dna and through the blood they searched for the heartbeat. Jay Setar was that beat, playing pro for awhile he had been awaiting the opportunity to fullfill his goals, original music, the music of the soul. The breathe of Eggshell needed to be harder and heavier, enter Rodney Amieva . A Metal player by trade Rod took Eggshell off the respirator and Eggshell Egoz was now of force in the music industry. Their music is a blend of Rock, Funk and Soul; a collage of art, music, and literature, blended together to create a melodic, euphoric sound. They have played on the same bill with big names ranging from Liz Phair to The Spin Doctors to Rod Stewart, and even had Victor Bisetti (Los Lobos) play percussion on the just released album Funky Poetz. They have been named LA's best new band (James James on Speak EZ Radio) and also a Radio Indie Gold Artist. The Egoz anthology of music consists of over 40 original songs and their tale can only be told through a narrative of lyrics. |
