The mysterious , lone electronica label "MadMouse Records" hidden in the hills of southern Ohio. Representing with their unusual take of electronic music is the group GP-101. A father-son duo incorporating qualities of "old-school" groups like Devo,Kraftwerk and Thomas Dolby using many of the same synthesizers as these and "new school" attributes of dance, hip hop and techno such as Enigma,Daft Punk and Praga Khan creating an unusual blend of techno, dance, new age and happy hardcore. Thanks to Roland and Korg they merge new technology with the old to create their unusual sound. GP-101 is most known and loved for their offbeat anime-style techno. Not really following a "familiar" sound of any of the groups who have given them their influence but yet has successfully blended the qualities of these to create music that could be considered "ageless". Occasionally GP-101 will create tracks that show they can create music for the modern dance floor when called upon. |
