from the artist: "Creating music is my great passion, and listening to soul-moving sounds is a close second. I am inspired by love, nature, imagination and the realm of infinite possibilities..."
California-born, Greg grew up on the islands of Trinidad and Hawaii, and has enjoyed a wide variety of world/ethnic music for most of his life. The international flavor of his background has been a big influence in his taste in melody, mood, and rhythm.
A Berklee College of Music alum and a grant award recipient from Grammy sponsors NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences), Greg has been composing, producing, and performing music for over 20 years.
Besides creating music, Greg lives and works on his small fruit and vegetable farm in Sedona, Arizona.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Greg Simon with a GrIndie Award for the CD "EthnikElectrika"
Who would have thought electronica and relaxing could be used in the same sentence? Well, it can when you pop in “EthnikElectrika” by Greg Simon. The talented musician does an outstanding job with his most recent album by fusing ethnic sounds with beats you would hear on any weekend in a club on Sunset Blvd. “La Bossa Love” features some magnificent melodic Spanish guitar work and sets the tone for the whole record. Branching away from the “Spanish” tones, Simon throws in some nicely played Indian ragas on the track “Joyfest.” If you are someone who loves those classic “Buddha Bar” collections, than you will love hearing “EthnikElectrika.” -Shaun H. and the RadioIndy Reviewer Team |
