For many years, songwriting team Kirk Layne, on drums/vocals, and Al Gollehon, on bass/backup vocals, have been cranking out metal in various projects. Developing a unique yet seductive style over the years, they would eventually induct guitarist Myke Starr to audition and then join to make what was a high energy trio, playing the local scene, but mainly developing their signiture recording techniques and unique sound. Drummer and friend Robert Cordray was soon seduced into the IYAM fold and offered a chance to take over the percussion section when Kirk decided to move up to the front "pulpit" with the vocals.

Driving Bottom-End Rhythm with in-your-face drums and bass, fat analog synths and loud, sizzling power chords that just seem to go on forever. Melodic, authorative vocals, along with Layne’s mind altering lyrics, and a uniquely optimistic “darkness” are the elements that give Better Than Ever it’s timeless IYAM sound and Universal Message.
The Vocal Harmonies & Sonic Richness that was achieved on Better Than Ever is amazing. Along with the Vocals, Drums, Bass, and Starr’s mind blowing Guitar, is the addition of the various layers of Gollehon’s Moog Synth, which adds some wonderfully pleasant and gut shaking low-end. Cordray’s lead drum style adds an amazing compliment of twists and turns that keep the listener at full attention.
