Artist History
The beginnings of Immundus as a Ghost Ambient-genre recording artist began in 2003 when he took a self-imposed exile from playing bass and singing (or growling, as he says) in metal bands, to move to Norway and capture the ethereal musical soundscapes he’d heard in his head for years but never had the chance to create. Three years later, the solo project he dubbed Immundus sprung up from Immundus’ desire (real name, Bruno Duarte) to tap into the spookiness and mystery of life.
-I have always been very interested in the paranormal, in hauntings, and in the afterlife and ghosts, so to be able to write music about subjects I’m interested in is definitely a great thrill,- Immundus says.
Since Immundus devoted himself to sharing his other-worldly interests with music fans in this world, he has recorded so far, several singles and 3 full-length albums, the highly acclaimed -Haunted Memories- 2009 and -Torments- 2008, presenting now the 3rd full-lenght and latest work in 2011: -Eye of the Serpent- released by Quartier23.
Though he knows his music isnt for everybody, Immundus aural vision and sometimes bizarre atmospheric melancholy is right for all of us, even if for a brief, skin-crawling moment in time.
-Everyone enjoys some spookiness and unusual music on their life, even if for five minutes,- he says.
While Immundus continues conjuring up his unique brand of gothic, mysterious music in some far off Norwegian recording studio, play one of his albums – or just one song – even if for just five minutes. Turn it up, turn out the lights, and close your eyes…You feel that feeling? Your skin erupts in thousands of goose bumps, all the little hairs on your arm stand at attention, your heart pounds so hard you’re sure it’s about to jump out of your chest, and the sensation of being watched by some unseen entity washes over you. Yeah, that feeling.
Thats him…
Immundus.

"Torments" is a haunting ambient album from Norwegian artist Immundus. Prepare yourself: one listen may force you to sleep with the lights on. Immundus creates an overall atmosphere of horror, suspense and distortion. Though the mood is dark, you'll hear some nice melodies and temporary hints of hope throughout. The arrangements are powerful enough to make you create your own horrific scene in your mind, like a horror movie without the movie. “Torments” is well-produced and allows the listener to hear those dark, disturbing ambient sounds as cleanly as possible. "I Walk Through the Shadows" opens thing up with creepy yet melodic bells and works its way into a disturb-o-rama of sounds. "To Where the Spirits Dwell" fills your ears with faint chants, creepy soundscapes, and a feeling that evil is approaching. "The Grieving Widow" wraps things up nicely with organic elements in the beginning and a nice progression in the end that speaks to the title. With “Torments,” Immundus has created a must-have for those who enjoy horror soundtracks and dark ambient music. -William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team Check out Immundus's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |
