Jonae from Tennessee Nashville

Artist History

Jonaé (joe-nay)

On a beautiful summer day in Nashville Tennessee, two musicians got together for a typical songwriting session; but what they found was something extraordinary. The electrifying rhythms and the hauntingly beautiful melodies flowed from the start and continue to this day. We hope you enjoy listening to our music as much as we do creating and playing it. Thanks for joining us on this journey. Enjoy the ride!

Jody Alan Sweet

Jody grew up in the Los Angeles area where he learned to play guitar and sing for his supper, playing up and down the California coast as a singer/songwriter for several years in nightclubs, colleges and various other venues, both famous and infamous.

After coming to Nashville in the early nineties, he was immediately offered a publishing deal and a subsequent record deal with SBK records. Songwriting was his passion, and soon, hit records with artists such as Trace Adkins, Lari White and Rhonda Vincent, to name but a few were to follow.

After meeting Renaé Truex, his focus imediately leaned toward composing, producing and having the time of his life playing the beautiful music of Jonaé.

Renaé Truex

Renaé Truex was born and raised in a small town of Moundsville, deep in the mountains of West Virginia, where she grew up listening to her grandmother playing guitar and her father playing fiddle around the house. At the age of fifteen Renaé began fiddlin' around on her own and fell in love with all types of music from country to jazz.

She moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1995 and began making a name for herself by performing with artists such as Ray Price, Little Jimmy Dickens, Lorrie Morgan, Charlie Daniels and Brett Michaels to name but a few. Renaé Truex is a member of the band Cowboy Crush on Curb Records, where they are currently enjoying great success on the radio as well as touring around the world.

After meeting with Jody Alan Sweet for a songwriting session, Renaé soon discovered that they had something very special indeed. Composing and performing this Jonaé music has been a truly magical experience.

Tom Moller

Born and raised in Sweden by parents who were internationally renowned classically trained musicians, Tom Knud Moller had little choice but to follow. His professional career spans over twenty years and includes multiple records released and distributed worldwide, two major record deals, and countless sessions with independent and signed artists. Upon his arrival in the states, Tom continued his musical training by attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, and later graduating from the esteemed Music Engineering Technology program at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. While at U.M., he was chosen as drummer for the school's highly respected Fusion Ensemble, a position which helped solidify his style of groove-based power drumming in both jazz and rock.

Tom has now arrived in Nashville, where he is working on an innovative approach to world drumming that's particularly suited to the music of Jonae'. Utilizing wooden Cajon's, African Djembes, and vintage Mondo Drums, he brings a new style of powerful organic grooves and rhythms that push the envelope of percussion.

Melodic and fascinating is the recently released disc “Sacred Fire” by innovative artist Jonae’. With a unique blend of violin, cello, viola, guitar, and world percussion the tracks on this CD have a very rich and instrumentally layered sound. There is a strong rhythmic backing to these songs and a unique sound. The CD is energetic and filled with vibrant and upbeat instrumental arrangements. Take for example the titled track “The Sacred Fire” as the burning runs on the strings gives spirited life to this dynamic piece. Feel the rhythmic beats of the percussion as it swirls around the strings on “Fireflies.” Showing a little versatility and moving the tempo to a waltz feel, which is seldom heard these days, “Blue Mountain Waltz” draws attention with the beautiful balance of harmonies of the strings. “Sacred Fire” is a wonderful collection of contemporary instrumentals and is a CD well worth listening to.

“Wilder Horses” by the band dubbed Jonae’ is an uplifting collection of instrumental tunes. From beginning to finish, “Wilder Horses” engages the listener with catchy combinations of skillfully-arranged acoustic guitars, violins, and percussion instruments. Furthermore, this album is filled with great creativity and dynamics, succeeding in catching the listener by surprise. The opening track, “Crusin’” is a perfect example of this album’s great compositions. Graceful, melodic flutes and violins take the stage on this unique tune, which calls to mind peaceful images of nature’s beauty. Additionally, the production of “Wilder Horse” allows the rhythm instruments and the lead string instruments to co-exist in perfect harmony! Lovers of instrumental/new age tunes will enjoy this upbeat, fun-filled album.
