Canta mi son! (Sing my song) is a festive introduction to the world of mariachi in a family oriented, kid friendly way. It is the world's first ever mariachi for kids CD- perhaps not thought of until now because it is traditionally a male dominated genre, and Juanita Ulloa is one of the ranchera field's leading female songwriters, and women tend to stay closer to family themes.
Many of the songs teach words in Spanish, such as "La carita" (the parts of the face) and "Vamos a la fiesta" (a list of -ar verbs-tocar, bailar, gozar, cantar), while matching cultural authenticity of top quality mariachi singing and playing!
This is the educational version with full Spanish pronunciation tracks for each song, and karaoke tracks for most- 80 minutes of music material!

RadioIndy is pleased to present Juanita Ulloa with a GrIndie Award for the CD "¡Canta mi Son! (Sing My Song) –Learn Spanish through the world of Mariachi!"
Anyone searching for a great introduction into the Spanish language should listen to Juanita Ulloa’s latest album, titled "’¡Canta mi Son!’ (Sing My Song) –Learn Spanish through the world of Mariachi!” This album is primarily geared towards young children and teachers, but is open to all ages young and old. All of the music is mariachi-based and is done very well, with some brilliant flamenco-style guitar work and lovely female vocals. “Vamos a la fiesta (Let's go to the Party)” is one of the many tracks that will make listeners want to get up and dance. “Mariachi infantil (Youth Mariachi)” is a slower song that features youth singing in the style of Mariachi. Whether you’re a teacher looking to have fun with your students or you’re in the mood for some good Mariachi music, then Juanita Ulloa’s "’¡Canta mi Son!’ (Sing My Song) –Learn Spanish through the world of Mariachi!” is your best bet. -Shaun H. and the RadioIndy.com reviewer team |
