Mystic Measures Band was formed in early 2009 to perform and record music that inspires people to rise above negative and fearful messages from the collective. Mystic Measures is sponsored by the Santa Fe Harmony Center, which offers experiential music, energetic medicine, and workshops for personal transformation and healing. Some say, “Drastic Times call for Drastic Measures.” At the Santa Fe Harmony Center, we say, “Drastic Times call for Mystic Measures.” Mystic Measures released its debut CD in May, 2009, called, “Origin.” The music invites you to sit back, enjoy yourself, and put attention to what you want instead. Jim Kinney plays the native flutes and hand drums, and doubles as the band’s sound engineer. Jim’s varied career has included doing Sea Air Rescue in the U.S. Navy and co-founding experiential drumming/dancing events called “The Ecstatic Experience.” Currently, he co-owns the Santa Fe Harmony Center with Jennifer Peters where they practice energy medicine. Jennifer plays synthesizer in the band. Her former career spanned 25 years in the medical device industry, as a marketer and general manager. Kevin Brownlee plays a unique native drum “kit” and all types of percussive instruments. He grew up in the Southeast, where he played Division I college football as an inside linebacker. Both Kevin and Jennifer have graduate degrees in psychology. |
