Santa Rosa Beach Florida
Helen “Redd” Vizard’s new CD - Discovered… At Last – is gaining respect and acclaim, even though distribution is not yet widespread. The new CD released September 19th , and although the title song “At Last” is getting rave reviews, it is the versions of “Funny Valentine” and “Stars and the Moon” that are attracting the most attention. Redd is backed up by the Guffman Trio from Pensacola, and is expecting to fill out next years event calendar with the complete ensemble performing together.
Redd relocated to Santa Rosa Beach from Key West in early 2007 with husband Paul, a former resident of Dune Allen Beach. Redd was a popular Key West attraction, and was also Queen of Fantasy Fest in 2005.
“The Emerald Coast has such a great local music talent said Redd, I am delighted with the end result. The interesting mix of these musicians came together with the vocals so well. I am glad others are enjoying it as much as we did when making it.”
“Incredible Jazz release, amazing vocal talent, glad to know Redd is a 30a beach resident” – 30aRadio
“She sings with a strength and quality of voice deserving of a big stage somewhere. - Redd mesmerizes her audience.” – Walton Sun
“Three Cheers for the Redd” – The Beachcomber
“Stars and the Moon is a Masterpiece ! “ – Playground Records
“I just love this CD” – Out and About Florida
“Extraordinary, we will be filming your shows” – 30aTelevision.com
Redd says, “Key West is known for closing the streets for open air concerts, like when I performed for tens of thousands in Duval St during New Years Eve - we even made CNN Anderson Cooper. I sang at many events there, at the Waterfront Theater, Tennessee Williams Theater and about every venue with live entertainment.
Now I hope to be able to perform at some of the great outdoor 30a venues such as Gulf Place, Redfish Village, and Seaside. The Cd release party was at Seacrest Pool and amphitheatre, that was a fantastic venue too”

Up and coming jazz artist Helen Redd Vizard delivers a truly awe inspiring jazz CD with her recently released Discovered…At Last. The vocals are outstanding and sung with such pure passionate emotion. You’ll hear standard jazz covers on this CD but Redd puts her own artistic, flavorful twist to these great jazz classics. The backing musicians, The Guffman Trio, lend a stunning musical performance enhancing the lead vocals of Redd. At Last is a wonderful rendition of the Etta James hit with stunning and exceptional vocals. My Funny Valentine is so sophisticated with vocals pouring out emotional feelings and the piano enhancing the ambience of the song. Sit back and listen to an upright bass sauntering through a bass solo or a piano strolling through a bluesy chord progression. Discovered…At Last... is definitely a relaxing compilation of familiar jazz standards with a fresh balance of jazz swing and blues. -Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Redd's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |
