After the success of the “Silent Circus” pop CD “Different worlds”, which won a Grindie Award in 2009, Longega returns to fusion music with his third CD, that marks his maturity not only as a guitarist but as a musician. This CD is a wonderful portrait of fusion music in 2010, and it's a concept album divided in four sessions, which is a guitar travel from Pat Metheny to Joe Satriani passing through Phil Keaggy and Antonio Forcione.
This is the author comment about his new album: “Growing we gain experiences, abilities, etc, but we lose possibilities, yes possibilities to become someone else, to live another life. And music is just like life, you learn scales, chords, substitutions, etc, until you become like a prisoner in their hands. Therefore, from time to time you need to go back to the roots, to become a child again, exploring new ways and possibilities, forgetting all you've learned, trying to live another life, as I did with this album”.
The CD songs seemed to be played by Beatles and Eagles togheter, but in a new modern way, with an acoustic rock fresh sound
notes
This CD is the result of the cooperation of two Italian musicians, who formed a new group called “Silent Circus”. Their debut album, “Different worlds” is a perfect mirror of nowadays, where communication media have allowed the mixture of cultures and musical visions.
In fact, the musical background of the two musicians is quite different: the singer has a pop/rock background, while the guitarist is known to be a jazz composer.
Today, where every word seems to be already spoken and every song seems to be already sung, cultural differences are the right ingredients that, if correctly mixed, could generate a fresh new breeze, like the music of this CD is in our opinion.
Of course, if you listen to their music, you will hear the echoes of their influences, but what is an artist without his predecessors? What would have been Pat Metheny without Jim Hall, the U2 without the Beatles? Beethoven without Mozart? Silent Circus without all of them?

Sit back and relax as you listen to the luscious, well crafted Jazz Fusion songs on, “Another Life,” by Alessandro Longega. This album features the highly talented guitarist, Longega, as he takes his talents to new and refreshing heights. The sound textures on this CD are very rich and ambient and you will discover that these enticing blends are extremely captivating. “The seventies” is a song that has an easy flowing feel and melodic melody. The irresistible song, “Kindly,” lets Longega demonstrate his fantastic harmonics on the guitar. The searing guitar riffs on, “Changing days,” show just what kind of talent Longega has to offer and that is his quick dexterity across the fret board. These tasty treats of Jazz Fusion on, “Another Life,” will surely please your musical palette especially if you’re a fan of Joe Satriani or Pat Methany.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Silent Circus with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Different Worlds"
The pop/rock duo, Silent Circus, debuts their first album “Different Worlds.” This pair is very reminiscent of blending two famous groups together, The Beatles and Eagles. The chemistry between these talented guys is unfaltering. They have composed lyrics with a calm, easy feeling balanced out by the easygoing instruments. Lead vocals are delightful and the harmonies complement them perfectly, as listeners will be able to hear on such songs as “I Believe” and “Hard to Be the One.” There is an excellent guitar solo on “High Speed,” while “Clouds” highlights a strong, melodic guitar, steeped with flowing riffs. Silent Circus’ “Different Worlds” would be a great addition to anyone’s easy listening album collection, especially for fans of The Beatles or Eagles. -Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team |
