Releasing his fifth edition CD, titled “Hip Hop & RnB Beats V,” Smooth4Lyfe lights up the music scene once again with striking instrumentals ranging from club beats to slow grooves. Joey Ofori is the talented artist behind Smooth4Lyfe and has the ability to bring together old-school-meets-today’s sounds, which is not only inspiring, but the relationship he creates is a smooth texture that all listeners can appreciate. Ofori does this with various styles and tempos which clearly creates ideal mood music and also offers up endless possibilities using the tracks as other musical outlets. This fourteen-track album leads off with a bright and crisp synth brass section on “Hip Hop 72 Inst. (Hey Hater Man).” Not only is this album filled with great Hip Hop but listeners will get a clever touch of Ireland on “Hip Hop 76 Inst. (Irish Hood Hop) with a profound fiddle, stunning accompanying strings, and driving drum beats. Let the soft and silky beats of “Dreams” put the spin on the laid-back ambiance that this song finely demonstrates. The fantastic collection of music on Smooth4Lyfe’s “Hip Hop & RnB Beats V” will not only make great background tracks for artists and their various projects, but will also be great as a stand alone album to kick back and jam to.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Smooth4Lyfe with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Club Hop"
Smooth4Lyfe has created a new album, “Club Hop,” filled with original artistic arrangements of Hip Hop and club mixes. Each song on this album is filled with bounce and enthusiasm. The first track, “Hip Hop Intro,” kicks off the album with stylish rapping lyrics that are clean, and also supports a positive and fashionable content. Production is high quality as the entire album features driving drum beats cascading with the pulsating bass lines. There is a smooth transition into the second half of the album with the bump and grind mix of “Club Intro.” Strong and powerful higher-pitched background vocals really add an edge to the funky track “This Feeling,” as the rhythm bounces to the house beat and the synth strings swell with a looped effect. “Rise of the Bees” keeps the rhythm pumping with the incorporation of electronic effects that brings a nice flavor to this style of club music. Smooth4Lyfe’s latest album “Club Hop” is an energetic one, filled with Hip Hop and party music that will have listeners dancing the night away. -Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team |

"Education of Life" by Smooth4Lyfe is an upbeat hip-hop album based on positivity and catchy hooks. This album is a breath of fresh air and takes you back to the days of Tribe Called Quest and DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The lyrics are very clever, the flow is great, and the vocal performances are fantastic. Behind the words, you get great production; so the songs are polished and radio ready. The arrangements are top-notch, with great variance in the beats and accompaniment that really brings the sound to life, pulling you out of your La-Z-Boy and getting you bumpin' and grinnin'. Highlights include "Drop That," with a classic beat, fresh lyrics, and a nice hook. The title track, "Education of Life," features conversational breaks, introduces a bit of a dark side to Smooth4Lyfe, and has a great hypnotic quality. "Summertime Baby" lives up to its title and delivers a classic rolling-with-the-top-down flow. With “Education of Life,” Smooth4Lyfe has created an upbeat hip-hop sound with great hooks and an overall good time. If you enjoy positive rap with a touch of real life experience, give “Education of Life” a listen. -William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Smooth4Lyfe's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |

"Think About It" by Smooth4Lyfe is an inspirational hip-hop album. The sound complements the motivational concept with cinematic and smooth jazz elements. Smooth has a nice flow to his delivery and a distinct determination is his tone. The arrangements are solid, mixing vintage hip-hop elements with organic elements. The album also features radio skits that are pretty fun. Highlights are "Back On Up," a Club ready jam with heavy electronica influence and a thick beat. The title track "Think About It" certainly "Smooths" it up with Jazz elements and an nice steady "Boom and Clap." "Poetry NIght" is a mesmerizing, yet theatrical track with a light flair. If you enjoy finding excellent up-and-coming rap artists, check out this CD. -William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Smooth4Lyfe's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |
