Son Lewis has been an active figure on the Blues music scene for some time. His work as a modern day exponent of the Blues, and R&B, has led him to recognition as a performer and recording artist. Son was influenced greatly by artists such as Robert Johnson, Otis Rush, and Hubert Sumlin (who he had the pleasure of accompanying in December 2006). His own particular guitar style developed under the guidance of Blues guitarist Danny Kalb (founder of the Blues Project, a seminal Blues band of the 1960's). Lewis' reputation has been built upon well-crafted recordings and solid live solo performances and with his own SON LEWIS Blues Band.
As a solo artist, performing the traditional country Blues, and with his band, rocking juke joints with electric blues, Son has become known as a faithful, and loving interpreter of this nearly lost musical art form. In live performance, TV, radio, and on recordings, Son Lewis has proved to audiences everywhere that the Blues is a vibrant, and exciting form of musical entertainment!

"Lewis is a polished guitarist able to summon up the appropriate feel for each song. The arrangements, while traditional, are never merely copies"
(Living Blues)
"Snake" is another great track that has the tight band in a groove from beginning to end with some serious piano playing…. Son Lewis on vocals and guitar is a joy to listen to.
(Blues Wax Magazine)
"This is one of the best CD's I've heard all year!"
(Mick Martin KXJZ-FM Sacramento CA)
"Son Lewis may be the Next Train Smokin' across the American Blues scene... these are East Coast Blues that should not be missed!"
(Mark Cole/Big City Blues Magazine)
"He is a musician who respects the past, and will offer much in the future"
(Best in Music/Greece)
"Smooth as silk describes the work of native son and Blues historian, Son Lewis. Lewis' gentrified guitar and soulful vocals squeeze every drop from these charts...and at 65 minutes, gives your box workout...he's a real deal".
(Music Matters Magazine)
"He’s compiled a CD that documents the development of the Blues from the thirties to the nineties. Son explores material from a Who’s Who, including Muddy, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Robert Johnson and just enough country masters to show you he’s the real deal."
(Tri-State Blues Magazine)
"...A versatile Blues artist...this CD speaks for itself "
(Les Tarr KLLK-FM Mendocino CA)

Releasing his newest album titled “Cadillac Rhythm,” Son Lewis has added another great collection of blues to his list of works. Lewis has created a refreshing approach to the many styles of blues with his own unique style of crisp guitar licks and soulful vocals. His energy and enthusiasm is heard throughout the entire album. The instruments are very supportive, as they accompany the vocals with flavorful riffs and solid chord progressions. “Old Blues Song” has classic troublesome lyrics, giving this tune a melody sung in true blues style. Taking the blues down south, “Nanny Goat Hill” is pure country blues, featuring some skilled glass slide usage on guitar. Fans of Muddy Waters or John Hammond will want to listen to “Cadillac Rhythm,” as it is steeped with enjoyable and well-produced blues songs.
