Trio West is a New York City based piano trio(piano, bass, drums). The band is known for it's tight arrangements and sophisticated blend of styles(jazz, Latin, funk, Brazilian, Spanish, middle eastern, etc). The members of the band all hail from the westside of Manhattan thus the name Trio West. They play regularly around New York City and the tri-state area. The original holiday release, Trio West Plays Holiday Songs was recently featured on Amazon's "12 days of Christmas" in December 08 and received thousands of downloads in one day. The CD climbed to #13 on the national jazz radio charts in 2008. About.Com nominated this CD as one of the top 10 best jazz holiday CD's. The band received an "Honorable Mention" from The Village Voice, was featured in the Hot House 'centerfold spotlight' , was voted best of 2008 by the Jazz Journalists Association and has received many 5 star reviews from publications such as Primetime Magazine and Premier Magazine. The members of Trio West have played with a variety of well know artists both within the jazz idiom and beyond. They include Cab Calloway, Lenny Kravitz, Bobby Watson, Donald Fegan(Steely Dan), Jane Monheit, Jon Hendricks and many more. In addition, the band leader/composer Tobias Gebb won a Grammy in 1996 for 'best original band' and worked with legendary producer Phil Ramone.
