X-Sonic is a one-man studio project started in 2006 by Michael Kauzlarich as a vehicle for creating instrumental covers of popular 80s synthpop songs. As is the case with so many hobbies (obsessions?) the project took on a life of its own and eventually lead to the construction of a fully-equipped digital recording studio for the composition and production of brand-new synthpop music recalling the retro style of the 80s sound.
Influences cover a broad range of synthesizer bands, but the sound has been mostly described as reminiscent of OMD, The Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode and Erasure.
X-Sonic's first full-length album of original material "Synthetic Heart" was released June 23, 2009 and has garnered fans not just in the United States, but from countries all over the world including Russia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Philippines, and the UK.
While promoting "Synthetic Heart" Mike is already hard at work in the studio on X-Sonic's next project tentatively scheduled for release on Zero-One Records in late summer/early fall 2010.

"Synthetic Heart" by X-Sonic is refreshing wave of 80's synthpop meets modern day electronica. The production of each track is progressive and provides solid and extremely danceable beats. The melodies coupled with the lyrics keep the listener in a kaleidoscope of romance, escape, and a night out all at once. This CD is definitely one that has the potential of being pumped in downtown nightclubs to get everyone out on the dancefloor. "Crazy Over You", the opening track really sets the tone of creativity and originality with a familiarity and a classic feel that can be heard throughout this record. Toward the end, "Fade to Blue" cools it down with a smooth ballad sound while still keeping the synthetic effects strong. Older fans of Dead or Alive as well as younger fans of Justice can thoroughly enjoy this up and coming band out of Tennessee.
