For awhile The Primatives played regularly at cafe in Washington, PA. Just down the street, on the same evenings that we played, an AA type meeting was held for alcholics and addicts. So the group would show up en masse at the cafe before and after their meeting. i received an email from one of the members of that group, who made the comment that this song, I'm Trying, was worth more to him than hundreds of meetings. Anyway, it's about dealing with the fact that not everyone has the same opportunities in life. jesse s. hanson |
