‘Re-Released’ by the Prisoners is a collection of very strong, mature modern rock songs. The album opens with very heavy, grinding electric guitars, which fully captivates the listener’s ears and mind. ‘(Capturing) the Colours (in Light)’ employs some of the most catchy, unforgettable guitar riffs. Better yet, as the CD progresses, this attention-grabbing sound continues, with an occasional departure to more laid back tracks, such as ‘I Spy.’ The production of the album successfully allows both the driving-guitars and powerful vocals to share the spotlight. All in all, ‘Re-Released’ is a consistently ear-captivating collection that will have fans of modern rock and roll wanting more! -Xavier P.. for RadioIndy Check out Prisoners's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

Prisoners formed in 1977 in Huddersfield, England at the height of the UK punk movement. During the early days, the band enjoyed success selling many copies of the original “Release” album. Prisoners played with many top name acts such as, The Damned, Adam & the Ants, Penetration, The Fall, Generation X and Crass. In late 2005, a newspaper in the UK ran an article with a picture from 1977, posing the question, “does anyone remember these guys?”. After many responses to the newspaper press office, a follow-up article was written, prompting a possible reunion. Several weeks of investigation later, the original members were located around the world and eventually, a reunion was scheduled. January 2006 was the initial meeting and between January and June 2006, the new album, entitled “Re-Released” was recorded. In November 2006, the BBC in the UK interviewed Prisoners upon their return from their US dates.
