DEZISHUN

Past & Present

In a world of constant competition and challenges we as a people are taught that in order to excel in life, we must approach every endeavor whole-heartedly.  Several years ago two brothers Fred "Baddest Dee" and Larry "Zipp-Luvv"; from Washington, DC. via Monrovia, Liberia; contemplated entering the music industry.  While student at Eastern Connecticut State University in Wilimantic, CT. both brothers set out on a mission to pursue the music world with a passion.  They named themselves DEZISHUN ;(Pronounced Decision) and Through these preliminary stages, their pursuit began.  Though the brothers endured many complicated phases of both their personal and pre-professional lives, they learned that hard work and commitment would eventually pay-off.  In the summer 2000, DEZISHUN reestablished themselves in "ILL TOWN" East Orange, NJ. where they are able to access the many opportunities of New York City only a few miles away across the Hudson River from where they are based.  This allowed them to enhance their music industry pursuit.  Through the lessons and experiences attained DEZISHUN established their own independent production and record company, DEE ZEE Enterprise Inc./deezeeenterprise.com.  They believe that in this stage and era of music the business, it's important for writers, producers and artists to be fully aware and involved with their professional and financial eminence.

The long wait is over and the time is now for DEZISHUN.  Working under their own production and record company, DEZISHUN proceed to estonish their audiences and fans as they travel their musical journey.  The songs they write, produce and sing, stems from their everyday experiences and from life in general.  The multi-cultural nature of East Orange, NJ. has allowed them to develop a love and appreciation for music of many different origins.  They believe that music is a cultural expression and the most important factor of their entire music career is how people from all walks of life perceive the messages, melodies and production within their music.  The most favorite saying of DEZISHUN is "Some are trees and some are branches, we are the roots" meaning that the musicians and artists of this era are spin-offs and copycats of each others music and style.  DEZISHUN is original as artists and the music they write and produce are innovative and ground rooted.  In the past decade, DEZISHUN has released a collection underground projects, which they've sold in the streets and in nightclubs whenever and wherever they performed.  They have also received a substantial amount of air-play on the CHR format radio station WILI (I-98) fm morning show, The Breakfast Club with Pete Nicholes and John Tuit, in Wilimantic, CT..  DEZISHUN has teamed up with fellow artist, writer and producer Rashena "SHE-KNOW" Burroughs from East Orange, NJ..  They are currently promoting their latest project release DEZISHUN/SHE-KNOW THE EP..  DEZISHUN is also currently in the studio working hard on their national and international debut album.  They've raised the bar on this project in order to give their fans and audiences all they can expect and more.

RadioIndy Review of The EP by DeZishun & She-Know!
POSTED BY: Babbbullon POSTED ON: 30 May 2008 12:57 PM
“The EP” by DeZishun & She-Know is a very lively collection of R&B-pop crossover tunes. The addictive dance beat makes it hard not to move your body to these tracks. Especially memorable are the female vocals on "Lucky Girl" and "Street Pressure." The opening-track, “Let's Party ‘Mommie Move Your Body’,” flaunts a very addictive musical hook and chorus melody. “Girls Rain” opens with a very eerie, middle-eastern voice melody and makes a smooth transition into a beat driven hip-hop track. Lyrically, these songs are written with care and relevance, tackling issues of love, street life, and growing up. Furthermore, creative production elements bring together the other strong elements of the music into an enjoyable collection of R&B-pop tracks.
