"Saving the Day" by SweetJazz55 can be best described as "Ambient Jazz." It features colorful and intriguing instrumental arrangements, lots of tricky bass lines and interesting synthesizer lines that take center stage on the tracks. There are many creative synthesizer sounds on this CD, adding to the color of the tracks. The track "Lizzart Hart" is quite adventuresome in the area of trickiness. Lots of sounds going on in this one. "XZERT" has that same quality with a nice flow. "The Set Up" mixes it up with airiness and consistency. All that said, this album has a relaxing quality to it. It's quite meditative. If you like Jazz Fusion, you will like this album. -william and the RadioIndy Reviewer Team Check out SweetJazz55's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |

I received my first real drum set when I was 5 years old since then I grew up playing Fusion Jazz, musicians like, Stanley Clark, Chickoria (The return to forever band) Herbie Hancock, Brecker Brothers, Billy Cobham, and George Duck etc. So add that to Funk, like The Funkadelicks, Camieo, The Ohio Players, Earth Wind and Fire and a few others. The mixture will get you, “Funky Fusion Jazz. At least that’s the way I see it. I hope you enjoy my music. |
