Receive e-mail alerts from the Xavier Losada Fan Club - powered by Botablog I began my musical career as guitarist and composer in the rock band HD in 1995. Later, I worked as a composer and live musician of Kaiser Soze Teatro (KST), a theater group led by Juan Souki. El verdadero Inspector Hound (Best Original Score, Festival Jose Angel Porteacero, 1998) was my first composition for theater and the beginning of a very productive relation with the novel director.
Among the pieces that counted with my participation are: Klown (KST, 2001); 10 (Enescena, 2002) for which I obtained Best Original Score in the Cinates Festival; Tell 2,2 (KST, 2003); Atra Bilis (Festival the International of Theater of Caracas – Tinta Fresca, 2004); Love (Caracas - New York Collective, 2005 with two seasons in the city of New York, 2006); The Uhaul Trilogy (Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, 2006); Crime & Punishment (Columbia Stages, 2007) and El Cascanueces Flamenco (2007) a flamenco adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.
I developed my facet as a musical producer taking the reins from the albums Suburbia by Embas (2006); Skama Sweet Selection of the reggae/dub band Skama Sweet Selection (TBA) and Blood & Karma (2008), debut album of the dark metal band Triad.

"Acantilado" by Xavier Losada is a creative CD of experimental Chamber and Avant Garde music. It features 8 themes, 4 mastered and 4 remastered. It is a highly cinematic album, but in a minimalist way. The arrangements are certainly "out there" and will challenge your ears. Lots of tonal piano lines and progressions mixed with eerie sounds and some ethnic instruments. The quality of sound is quite good and attention was paid to every detail. Highlights include "La Calma," which is the lead-off track and lets you know right away what you are in store for as it fades in with faint gong strikes, followed by a promise filled piano line that eventually moves into a dark place. "La Meurte de Emp'edolces" features many unique ethnic sounds (rainsticks, digerdoos, etc...) and has a curious Tuba arrangement. If you like experimental classical music, you'll enjoy this inventive CD. -William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Xavier Losada's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites |
