Stay With Me, the latest release from Stoney Clove Lane on Woodstock MusicWorks, is brand new but you'll feel like you have known it all along.

Jeremy Bernstein, of Woodstock, NY, came up on the Americana Roots that crawl beneath the mountains he calls home, where, for the most part... good things happen. Rather than head for bluer skies, he stayed in place and wrote songs, stepping out from time to time, finding himself on the stage with George Clinton, touring with 420 Funk Mob and Drugs; both projects of 30 year Parliament Funkadelic veteran Michael Clip Payne. Back home Jeremy united with guitar player Adam Widoff and Stony Clove the studio was born.

Adam came up studying many musical traditions, including Indian classical music with Ali Akbar Khan, and has contributed his impressive genre hopping skill to recording and performing with Mercury Rev, Toshi Reagan, David Torn, Lenny Kravitz & Casselberry-DuPree to name just a few.

A Stoney Clove Lane Show feels rather like the Woodstock haunts in the late 60's and 70's. Musicians sit in, there is always room for one more on the stage, and love is shared. Jeremy & Adam have harvested a wealth of Woodstock flavor to add to the already in place crew for the follow-up to Down Rent War.

Wherever they are, they're supported by an impressive cast of musicians. Staple players Josh Stacey & Todd Vos, add to the guitar heavy, yet graceful approach Stoney Clove Lane takes to their sound. The rhythm section is generally held up by Joe "Stalin" Magistro (Prophet Omega, Graham Parker, Kate Pierson, Sara Lee, Rich Robinson) who appears on "Chasing Rainbows," and Danny Blume (Medeski, Martin & Wood) on bass.

Jeremy & Adam wrote the songs, and played all of the instruments on Stay With Me, yet still managed to deliver the fruit of musical community with a little help from their friends. Woodstock legend John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful) makes a harmonica appearance on " By Your Side," followed by son, Ben Vita's percussive assistance with " On the Other Side," Simon Felice (The Felice Brothers) stepped in on the writing of "Castles Fall," and true to form, a fun time was had by all. With these hills as their muse, we could expect nothing tastier than an album like Stay With Me.

Jeremy's honest lyrics are sung with tactile grit giving the songs a gentle rawness supported by Adam's guitar, dynamically ranging from soaring grace to crunchy grime. When Jeremy, Adam and the rest of the crew come together down Stoney Clove Lane, magic happens... a little Country Funk, some Americana folk, straight up Rock & Roll, let's just coin it Jam-ericana.

Stay With Me grabs listeners right off the bat coaxing us to take another step toward our own greatness. "Crawl," answers the question "Why you wanna crawl when you walk that walk?" with thick wa-wa punctuation, a gripping hook and crystal clarity production. By the middle of Stay With Me, Stoney Clove Lane takes a Neil Young/Crazy Horse-esque approach in delivering the crunchy, guitar heavy "Castles Fall" securing their place in the Classic-Rock-Staple category. On the close, "Gone" sends you on a lonely quest from the front porch, and invites you back for a sit...

Neither Stoney Clove Lane the band, nor studio will sit for long, there is always something coming down the tracks...
