Lyrics
It’s Still YouWords & Music by Jack Douglas Just another one of those endless days, I was sitting on my porch somewhere east of L.A., Strummin’ on the pages of my favorite book, The one God wrote about you.  I’m not talkin’ ‘bout the Book of John, Though this place does resemble Babylon.  I’m just talkin’ ‘bout the way you walk, When you go walkin’ through.  And my life, up until now, I muddled through it somehow. And my day was almost here. But you snapped your little fingers, And just like that, everything was over.  Now I’m flashing back the years… Rollin’ through… It’s still you.  It reminds me of the time we were back at your ma’s. I was down in the mines with one of your pa’s. I believe it was your cousin Ed Who finally pulled me clear.  Runnin’ for the man, scratchin’ for the door. You know you oughta stay, You know you’re gonna go, ‘Cause down inside it’s closin’ time. And outside’s just a mirror.  And my life, up until then, Mostly spent in the wind. And my day was almost here. But you snapped your little fingers, And just like that, everything was over.  Now I’m flashing back the years… Rollin’ through… It’s still you.  I was just comin’ out of that perfect haze, When, in all of my lovin’ and all of my days,I can’t believe how I can’t forget The one I hold so dear.  Anyway, what I was talkin’ about Was the way you used to look whenever we’d go out, The way I always felt, the way I still do, Any time you are near. And my life used to shine through,  Those eyes… Eyes of blue. And my day could still come clear. Just snap your little fingers, and I’ll be back. I’ll be comin’ over them railroad tracks to you. Yeah, you… It’s still you.  You snapped your little fingers, and just like that, everything was over.  Now I’m flashing back the years… Rollin’ through… It’s still you.
