Artist History
Larry Randall

Restless talent may be the best way to describe Larry Randall’s success in the numerous facets of his life.  He has become internationally known as the “SAXMAN”, but this is a deceptive description of this multi-talent, dynamic entertainer.  His ease of style, clear talent, and unique vocal presentations, combines with his obvious enjoyment in his work to create an atmosphere that few can resist, making him one of the world’s most sought-after entertainers.

Larry’s love of music was so impassioned that he knew that it was to be his life’s work, and by the age of eight he began his formal music education with classical training, studying piano at the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, Missouri.  It was in high school that Larry’s musical interest took a different direction.  He began playing the saxophone and the clarinet, formed his own eighteen-piece orchestra, and began performing professionally.  Larry’s big band sound was so successful that a local television station hired the band to do a weekly show.  The leaders of Big Bands, such as Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, and Count Basie, would come to be interviewed and Larry would provide there the songs for the show. Seeking a degree in music, Larry attended Kansas State University, and North Texas State University, where he majored in music.  Throughout his career, Larry has delighted audiences all over the world, performing in many premier establishments, including The Palladium in Hollywood, Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe and Reno, Caesars Palace, The Thunderbird, Flamingo, and MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

He has appeared with such all time greats as Bob Hope, Judy Garland, Tony Bennett, Pete Fountain, Al Hurt, Bobby Darrin and Kenneth Copeland to name a few.

Larry’s television appearances have been numerous, including every major TV network in the US, Japan, and Europe, and he worked with Burt Bacharach recording the soundtrack for the movie “Love Hurts”.  Early in his career, Columbia and Liberty Records signed Larry to produce and record for their labels.  Larry now records and produces under his own label, and his recent albums, World Tour, In Concert, and Mr. Entertainment are available.

Hundreds of thousands of people have seen Larry perform, and they all come away with different appraisement of his many talents.  Some call him a marvelous musician; others perceive him as a smooth and polished vocalist, as well as an energetic dancer and a fun and enlightening storyteller.

At any performance audiences will differ in age and in musical taste, but they all agree on one thing, that it was an “absolutely brilliant performance”.

Larry Randall has realized his childhood dream.

He is “Mr. Entertainment”.

Larry was chosen by Crystal Cruises as Entertainer of the year.

Time Does not permit to go into any more detail, but I believe you can see the hand of God leading me into all things.

All the music that you hear on this CD has been inspired by the Holy Ghost, it is what took me off of the ships and brought me home to minister with music and God's perfect word, the Love Christ has for us.

May this music bless you in all you do, and may you come to know Christ as Your Savior through it all.

Love in Christ,

Larry Randall

"The Blessing" Reviewed by RadioIndy.com!

“The Blessing” is a four CD, eighty-six song spiritually inspiring, contemporary jazz gospel box set from Larry Randall. Randall believes that he was called upon to minister the word of God with music, to express the Holy Ghost within him through song in hopes of inspiring the Holy Ghost in his listener. Not surprisingly, all eighty-six songs are filled with religious imagery and spiritual, joyous, Biblical, and even prophetic lyrics. Vocally, Randall is a crooner, and at times sounds similar to Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. The arrangements are typically simple and soft, so as not to overshadow Randall’s message, but they are great collaborative efforts that hail from a variety of genres, including smooth jazz, big band, gospel, soul, Latin, Hindi, rock & roll, and R&B. The recording quality of “The Blessing” is quite good, and the arrangements and vocals both sound polished and professional. “We Are Home” is a slow smooth jazz number with smooth saxophone solos and lyrics of faith and unity. “Speak of His Joy” is a big band tune you could swear was actually being sung by Sinatra, and has more religious imagery about salvation and grace. “His Name is Jesus” has a great jazz arrangement as Randall pilfers through all of the names for Jesus. “Stand” is a fast-paced song with a Hindi-music-inspired arrangement and a group chant vocal. “Faithful and True” is a gospel song with a great organ-led arrangement and is a conversation between Randall and Jesus. “The Blessing” is a bold box set with great arrangements and ministering lyrics, and is it mere coincidence that it is a Bible-sized effort? Fans of contemporary jazz gospel looking to worship God through song, pick up Larry Randall’s box set.
