Band History
Randal Ehm and Tom McKinley began jamming together in 1996, and formed Ehm TV with Drummer Van Smith in 1998. Smith was replaced by Steve Polite in 2000, and STEHM was born! STEHM was joined by James Neal in 2005.
The band is picking up a strong following, playing clubs throughout San Diego County. STEHM played the infield at NASCAR California Speedway in February 2007. Fans dig our popular covers from Stone Temple Pilots, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, among others, and are fond of the b-sides by Tonic, Cry of Love and Mad Season.
We just released our inaugural CD, "Pointing North," and are in studio working on our next release. We are also writing material for the soundtrack of a worldwide televised sports event to be aired in Spring 2010.
For club gigs, we have two sets of originals and two sets plus of covers. For concerts we have 90 minutes of original music.
