Just when you think the music industry is a wrap, something new blossoms.  Jay began his career as a singer in a church choir and musical theatre in his native Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He is a passionate, true artist with emotional expression.  He is a writer, a producer, a performer.  Jay also enjoys collaborating with other artists, to meld unique tastes in sound and texture.  Over the past year he has worked with hit producers I-ROC (Universal Music/Happy Madison Productions/BZEE ROC) and  RADIO (Chris Brown’s “Dreamer”/Blake Lewis’ “End of the World”) towards the ending results, “From The Ashes”, Jay’s sophomore follow up to “Face In Your Crowd” by Jonathan Adam.  When asked what he wants his fans to know about him, Jay responds, “I’m a real person.  I write from my heart and I want that to come across.  I’m not the bubble gum pop trend and I want to make a mark on the world.”

Jay’s new single, “Take It From The Ashes”, comes off of his new album titled, “From The Ashes”.   Which was released on March 6, 2009.   You can easily identify with this new single.  It applies to everyone, although Jay admittedly stated that it may be somewhat autobiographical.  “It draws on the legend of the Phoenix, in that it’s about starting over, a rebirth, a trial through fire where you come out on the other side with a fresh start.”  There are lessons to learn when you listen to Jay’s music.  You need to read beneath the words.  This single mission statement is simple:  No matter what you go through in life, you can always pick yourself up, gather all the pieces together and keep moving forward.

There are a lot of melodic runs, lyrical messages, and rhythmic scenarios in all of his songs.  The songs are very catchy, great beats, great music all around with life lessons to learn.

Jay Arseno has received a Radio Indy-Grindie Music Award for his first album “Face In Your Crowd” by Jonathan Adam for one of the best Independent Pop/Rock albums released in 2008.

There are plans to tour Houston, Austin and Dallas for the release of this new album, “From The Ashes”.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jay Arseno with a GrIndie Award for the CD "From the Ashes"

Highly talented artist, Jay Arseno, gives us a huge taste of his musical abilities on his latest CD “From the Ashes.” Right from the start, the melodies and rhythmic beats are infectious to hear. Arseno delivers these catchy melodies within pop/alternative rock tracks that flow smoothly from one song to the next. His versatility to cover these styles with strong vocals makes this a truly enjoyable album. The production on this CD is top-notch and mainstream radio-ready. Vibrant and upbeat, “Shine!” will want to lead your tapping feet to the dance floor. Then take a trip to the edgier, alternative rock side as you hear “A Pretty Truth.” If you want to hear pop music that is well blended with alternative rock, then “From the Ashes” is an album definitely worth adding to your collection.

"Face In Your Crowd" by Jonathan Adam (Pop Artist from Texas(TX))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jonathan Adam with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Face In Your Crowd"

“Face In Your Crowd” is the excellent pop rock debut from Texas singer/songwriter Jonathan Adam. Adam (stage name of Jay Arseno) delivers a great vocal performance reminiscent of many of his influences, including Better Than Ezra and Vertical Horizon, and the entire album features outstanding vocal layering and harmonies. His songs have a solid rock foundation with great guitar riffs and solid beats, and Adam fuses it nicely with great pop elements, including electronica keyboards, whistles, flute solos, and Adam’s stellar pop vocal performance. The songs themselves are melodic and catchy, heartfelt and real, and have great lyrics about love and life, often in rhyming verse. “Face In Your Crowd” is well-produced and sounds clean and professional with a great balance of vocals and instruments. “15 Minutes” is a fast-paced arrangement with matching frantic electronic drums and lyrics about the proverbial fifteen minutes of fame. “Cinematic Tragedy” has catchy and metaphorical lyrics and excellent musical transitions with electronica elements. “Face In Your Crowd” is truly an impressive debut from Jonathan Adam with its original pop rock arrangements, electronica elements, and powerful vocals. Fans of pop rock with a great modern rock foundation should definitely pick this one up.
