"Well, you certainly haven't heard anything like this before! Bill's enchanting and mysterious songs have the effect of drawing you into a direct confrontation with your own absence, an absence which pulsates with aliveness, and brims with an unconditional love that destroys all seeking once and for all, leaving only the wonder of what is. An absence which is really a perfect presence. These gentle, playful, and innovative compositions ask questions that go right to the heart of the seeking game, probing into the very foundations on which we have built our lives. I love the myriad expressions of Oneness, and this expression is unlike anything you've encountered before. It points directly back Home in such a delightful way!" -

"I've listened to your songs - they are very interesting and fresh ways of pointing to that which cannot be seen, describing the indescribable, using words to point to that which is beyond words. The songs are an invitation to question the concepts out of which the world is created, not a lullaby but a loud beacon which may wake us up from the dream of separation." -
Randall Friend

"I have just visited your website and was impressed by your profound inquiring approach.  Anyone who is interested in the truth will find your CD and website both inspiring and provoking." -
Burt Harding

"What Bill East has managed to achieve with "What Am I really" is to create a challenging compilation of heartfelt words and music which form a catchy, interactive method of self-enquiry. The blend of truth and purity in the songs is undeniable, revealing a signpost of reflection providing listeners with the opportunity to sense the interconnectedness of all things. There's simply a song for everyone on this cd." - J.M.Harrison

“Bill’s CD is a creative and novel way of sharing timeless questions and pointers
pertaining to the wonder of This.”
-
Leo Hartong

"A stunning expression of Love, from I Am to I Am - This collection of musical pointers is a checkmate to the mistaken identity. Consciousness serenading ItSelf with elegant excellence, a loving Gita - a Song Of Self - don't overlook the simplicity that Bill East points to and let the search for wholeness disappear here and now. Obviously, highly recommended!" - Charlie Hayes

"These rhythmic joyful sounds evoke the Divine Child-Heart out from under the intellect. With innocence and charm Bill East takes us skipping and leaping through Spirit's door." -

I've received your CD and book of lyrics. Thank you. You are the Father of Advaita Rock, a whole new genre and new way of delivering and receiving the bottom line teaching of nonduality.
.
I like your songs a lot. I never turn on the radio, but if they played your songs I would. They're catchy with lyrics that are delivered crystally clear. Not a single word is unclear or lost.
Jerry Katz

"With enchanting guitar and chant-like simple, catchy melodies and lyrics, Bill East refreshingly puts self-inquiry into song. If you listen closely, so many of Bill's lyrics are in the form of questions, rather than answers. The intelligence of this One Life speaks most openly when it is asking and looking, rather than when it is trying to find answers. Bill is a vessel which allows this intelligent curiosity to breathe itself into delightful musical form." -
Scott Kiloby

Does 99% of spiritual music, as beautiful as it is, unintentionally reinforce the seeker's #1 unconscious trap?  Does beautiful music take us away from nowness, which may seem chaotic?  Does it convincingly demonstrate that there may be a "state" of peace?  Does it create hope that there could be a permanent escape from this chaos?  Does most music birth a tomorrow, when peace may somehow arrive at our doorstep? Is there assurance that it never will?  And only never?

Is there a guy called Bill East, who's amazingly simple CD has stood spiritual music on its head?  Has something about a CD unflinchingly pointed toward what's here and now? Can the simple repetition of multiple themes of inquiry arrive at the same peace and knowing that once seemed so far off?  Can it still be deeply seated in what is?  Do simple engaging and enquiring lyrics with modern-day music just make you want to sing along?  Is there a you that has an urge to share with your friends in groups and in Kirtan and chanting? Is there a we that can experience this immediate knowingness Now?  And only here and now? -

"Bill East's self inquiry through song reveals the truth of who we are!"
-
Bob Seal

"This is certainly a pleasant surprise!  It is reminiscent of kirtan...except that it is in English which allows the listener to jump straight to the meaning of where the words are pointing."  - Nathan Spoon

"Awareness dancing, shining, inquiring into its own nature of perfect Suchness and leaving no one singing, no one listening within pure Presence. ' What Am I Really.com ' is a beautiful expression of Awake Intelligence. Let these humble songs of investigation resonate within, unveiling illusions and awakening the heart of Intelligence." -
Fredrik Stahlfors

--------------------------------------

"This is a new fresh way to point. It resonates heart to heart. Just tune in to the rhythms and let the pointers sink in, and it's going to connect you to your natural state." -
Micael Stark

"This is a truly innovative expression of Self-inquiry that brilliantly investigates the Truth of "What Am I Really".   These direct pointers, in the form of mantra-like compositions, invite us to rest in the unknown." -
Jason Swanson

"Bill's CD is a unique, enjoyable and effective way of listening to the fundamental pointers of Advaita"
-
Roy Townsend

--------------------------------------

"Bill East's CD offers a gentle, innovative approach to finding your true nature. His mantra-like compositions combine the ancient practice of chanting with the sensibility of a modern musician whose lyrics pose incisive and persistent questions about who you really are. They strongly encourage and aid the listener in Self-inquiry." -
Dennis Trunk

--------------------------------------

“If you like the sound and style of Indian devotional chanting but do not have any religious fervor and would like to understand the words, then this may just be the modern Western equivalent. Repetitious and hypnotic, the lyrics ask rhetorical questions (in English) about the nature of Self and reality over a background of acoustic guitar and percussion rather than praising Shiva (in Sanskrit) to the sound of sitar and tabla. An original and provocative work.” -

“Pointers to reality, this information is absorbed well in the rhythm of song. I look forward to hearing some more.” -
Nigel Watts

--------------------------------------

"Through Bill East flows this beautiful musical mantra of Self - inquiry. Sung from the Heart to the Heart — with Love."  -
Stephen Wingate

"Listening to Bill's CD opens a door to a peaceful space. A beautiful expression of THAT. " -
Joe Winslow

Your songs are so catchy and a whole new way of delivering the message of nonduality. I've never experienced anything like it before. They're even a little addictive.

As far as your singing style and ability, I'd go as far as to say you're the Advaitin love child of Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen! I could listen to your voice all day as it's very relaxing. I encourage people to listen to the samples from the CD and to order it.
