'Love Revue' broke on to the airwaves this year, their track 'Soothe My Soul' spearheading the new Samsung F400 'Share' campaign, gaining them heavy rotation on XFM, Radio 1 and stations nationwide. This brought 20,000 hits in to their myspace page in just two months and a feature on the opening page of this years 'Unsigned Guide'
They then came stupendously close to winning a £100,000 Artist Development Deal with Universal Records, in the the worldwide www.1click2fame.com competition. Out of hundreds of artists, they came top in online figures gaining more then 52,000 views for their video's, but when the winner was announced at The Proud Galleries in May, they came a shocking second! With major support networks of fans around the world, built up from both campaigns in the last year, Love Revue now surge ahead with their blend of folky funky pop.
'Love Revue' have been praised as '...exceptional...' by Charlie Gillet of BBC Radio 2's world music programme. Their album, 'Love Revue', is available at www.loverevue.com it's name, referring to a theme found in many of their tunes, the delicate balance between giving and showing love.
"Perfect and I mean PERFECT power pop outfit from London Town...Prince meets Bowie in the honey dipped male vox. Their track "Get Along" is so, so ridiculously catchy, if that isn't a hit single I’ll eat my hat. In fact I’ll become hat bulimic. Devouring and regurgitating hats repeatedly ad infinitum... " Tony Gleed, Bugbear Promotions
Mirrorballs Magazine in May 2009; '...act of the night & the one to watch was Love Revue...sweet melodic songs... arresting harmonies... a variety of sympathetic sounds. Look out for them!'

RadioIndy is pleased to present Love Revue with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Love Revue "
Smart and catchy pop/rock with decidedly Power Pop leanings is the order of the day on the very fine new self-titled CD from Love Revue. Boasting a post-Beatles-inspired sense of melody and pop precision, Love Revue’s irresistible hooks have an altogether classic feel despite the contemporary production values that make this 11-song collection a natural for multiple radio formats. CD opener, “Cooking for One,” a low-key gem built on a piano and acoustic guitar backing, sets the bar pretty high for the rest of the disc as it recalls the charms of Badfinger at that classic band’s best. “Looking for the One” and “Soothe My Soul” more than ably demonstrate Love Revue’s rocking side, while “Strip Me” and “Release” is love ballads of the first order. With the triumphant song “Get Along,” Love Revue really proves its mettle with a spirited ELO-influenced creation tailor-made for summer radio and summer fun. Love Revue’s CD impresses as an album that succeeds on its own merits: a collection of pure pop songs that will sound as good on the car radio as they will at home. -Rice B. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team |
