“If you have not had a chance to check out the correctness known as Farrad, then take a peek…he is definitely one to watch and if you don’t find yourself busting a move while listening to this you must have a giant stick shoved sideways up your ****.  TRUST.”  (Walt Cessna, contributor to BlackBook & A Shaded View On Fashion)

Farrad debuted tracks off his debut album, The Time Is Now at Santos Party House in NYC in 2009 and it’s been an upward trajectory ever since. The project is receiving such great response that Bunim/Murray Productions licensed his entire album for shows including: MTV’s Real World, Road Rules, Extreme Challenge & The Stylist; E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians & Khloe and Kourt Go To Miami; and Bad Girls Club on Oxygen.

Farrad’s powerful first single “Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor” inspired world-class talent to contribute to the accompanying video: Director Greg Haggart and Ann Gilbertson (producer of music videos and concert footage for acts such as Rolling Stones, Michael & Janet Jackson, David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails), partnered with Farrad to realize a post-apocalyptic vision of man vs. machine.  Hot designer SoHung Tong (creator of unique looks for Beyonce and Fergie) customized a must-see piece, and motor-cross world record breaker, Shane San Miguel, lent his skills as the musical short’s daredevil nemesis.

Farrad appeared on the 2008 NewNowNext Awards on Logo with his fellow Dazzle Dancers, and he performed with Cazwell opening for Lady Gaga at the Highland Ballroom.  In the last year he has also rocked audiences at the most recent New York City Fashion Week,  Joe’s Pub,  the 2009 Pridefest Stage on the Hudson, The Endup in San Francisco,  along with Vauxhall’s Club Fire and the famed Madame JoJo’s  in London.

His influences include Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger and contemporary artists such as Beyonce, Prince, and Andre 3000.  Farrad commands a stage with precise choreography, unbridled passion, boundless energy and the singular focus to give the crowd more than they bargained for – infusing every song with power, theatrics, and ridiculously catchy hooks.

A regular in the downtown New York City performance scene, has played all over North America, Europe and Australia, and is excited to take his entire album and first single, “Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor” to the dance floor and into the mainstream.

Get ready for clever, heavy-hitting, urban-crossover jams that won’t leave you sitting for long.

Raw emotion, precise delivery, killer hooks…and a whole lotta soul.

"Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor : The Remixes" Reviewed by RadioIndy.com!

"Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor : The Remixes" by electronic/funk artist Farrad, is a collection of 12 unique dance remixes of the title song, and includes the bonus track, “Praise 2 The DJ.” Although the album primarily fits into the dance or techno genre, the influence of 80's rock and pop as well as hip-hop and R&B are a part of the mix. The tracks move from steady beats to ecstatic ones to slower ones, but all charge the listener to get up and dance their heart out. The "Ron Kurti Remix" is particularly unique in that it has the bass line of good Detroit house, but also features the mesmerizing influence of DJ Tiesto which, when brought together, makes for a high energy dance track - for all of six minutes. On the "JJ Appleton Remix,” a funky discotheque theme is more prevalent. The mood is bubbly on this track while the bass line remains thumping. This album is a stepping stone for this artist and listeners of the dance genre should keep an eye on him as his music is sure to grow in popularity in the new year.

Farrad releases his fantastic CD, “The Time Is Now” featuring invigorating, vibrant, and energetic Top 40/Pop compilations. You can’t help but get up off your feet and move to the powerhouse beats and grooves this album has to offer. Kicking off the album, “Misunderstood” burns with distorted vocals and funky rhythmic beats. Turn up the bass on the sub woofer as “Pick Your Face Up Off the Floor” is maximum pulses of thumping bass and drums. The easy flowing vocals on “Keep Your Head Up” complement the lyrics as the supporting instruments capture the smooth, slick vibe. Soulful, with a smooth R&B influence, “Destiny” reveals Farrad’s ability to show some diversity within his style of music. If you’re a fan of Lady GaGa and love great party music then take a listen to “The Time Is Now” as it’s packed with high energy and progressively modern, Top 40 spins.
