Dr. David c Deal lives in a small town in Ohio where he is a practicing psychologist. His favorite instruments are keyboards; however he also enjoys playing acoustic guitar. He currently performs in several bands including a Trans-Siberian Orchestra tribute band named Siberian Solstice. He recently finished a four year stint in a Pink Floyd Tribute Band named One of These Daze.

A word from David:

I have completed the recording of a concept album entitled Transformations, which is both a spiritual autobiography and hopefully, a spiritual vessel. Transformations  makes use of Jazz, Rock, Broadway and Progressive Rock mediums in a format which attempts to honestly express intense spiritual/emotional experiences spanning a lifetime. The music defies single genre descriptions and has been described as a fusion of YES and Andrew Lloyd Weber with a pinch of The Who. The songs from Transformations have deep, emotional and spiritual meaning and are meant to be heard sequentially for full effect. I enjoy writing songs which emanate from the deeper recesses of the universal human mind.

Some of the musicians who played on Transformations include David C Deal, Les Brooke, Tom Hannah, Tim Vargo, Andy Vargo, Cynthia Lugo, Russ Notestine, Andrea Bok, David Coonrod, Ned Clark, Kevin Peters, Kristin Sorensen and William O'Connell. The native flute song following each composition was composed by Arthur Kills Straight Putnam and represents "Spirit", which is best heard when the mind is most quiet.

Transformations Cover Message:

"Sometimes, in the midst of a perfectly ordinary day, one is unexpectedly flooded by the magnificence of “what is.” Perhaps that moment of awareness and clarity arrives while watching a storm or absorbing a piece of art or kneeling with intention in a church. If blessed, echoes of the past and visions of the future fade from existence as the unknowing silence of the infinite present emerges. With patience and grace, one comes to know the incredible richness of “what is” as a revelation of God’s face and the mind is forever transformed into a mirror of creation." . .

"Transformations" Reviewed by RadioIndy.com!
POSTED BY: momof5pacs POSTED ON: 22 Oct 2009 06:03 PM

David C Deal's latest album, “Transformations,” uses a beautiful blending of genres in an attempt to give his audience an inspirational and uplifting musical experience. This record is produced song to song; some tunes are Jazzy, some are Rock songs and still others are Broadway-like ballads. The opening track, “Graceful,” is an uplifting, instrumented song that centers on an alluring flute playing a melodic melody. On the song, “First Contact” we hear Deal discuss his feelings about God over an energetic, guitar-lead, Rock ballad featuring a string section. Then, on “Flowing Deep In The Night” we encounter a slow moving Jazz song placed behind the vocals of a talented female singer. So while Deal may jump from musical genre to musical genre within “Transformations,” the album is held together by his goal of addressing life's largest issue while being uplifting and motivating. Check out this album if you enjoy music that tries to take on intense and deep issues or if you would like to hear how one man can express himself in various musical styles.
