|The Only One
We grew up close together, two children playing man and wife
We swore to be true forever. Believed that it meant for life.
You were the only one, my eyes could ever see.
No matter what the years could do you were always the one for me.
School days and endless summers, growing up and growing strong
I‘d be father and you’d be mother. Faith grew and the days were long
We never doubted that we had the future planned
Taking it all for granted, while time slipped away like sand
Suddenly it’s all so different. I don’t know just where I am.
All the plans we made are shattered and I am a broken man
