Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, writing , performing and recording music has always been a huge part of my life. My first guitar teacher was John Oates. I was 12. He had me playing "Eleanor Rigby" by the end of my 1st lesson. I also studied jazz guitar with Steve Giordano and after attending Combs College of Music, I was sucked into the corporate world and have worked for the phone company for 28yrs. Thru that period I raised a family and played the original band circuit in philly, and produced jingles. Life has been good! I'm now living in the Poconos .
combines rhythmic grooves , magnetic melodies and memorable lyrics that take the listener in many directions . This 3 piece powerhouse uses rock, jazz , funk and folk to create a unique sound that is honest, raw and real.
Based in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania these music veterans have been through House bands, 70’s fusion , 80’s new wave, and 90’s grunge, only to escape unscathed and emboldened to move forward .
Mike's alter ego "Sapien Mahaded" mixes poetry, created language, and effects to form an unusual and captivating new edge to the spokenword genre.
Sapien's spokenword submission "Celebration" won The Big Push Competition on American Idol Underground.
In 2006 Sapien has won almost $10,000 in cash and prizes on online competitions at "American Idol Underground" www.idolunderground.com

“Settle and Rush” by the powerhouse rock band named Soul Q is a melting-pot album that pioneers into new musical territory. Bearing heavy influences of jazz, funk, and folk, Soul Q defines a daring, yet pleasantly refreshing rock sound that is simply magnetic! Guitar hooks, melodic hooks – all kinds of hooks - make “Settle and Rush” hard to forget! “Ruby Slippers” flaunts an amazing lead guitar riff and an infectious rhythm that is hard to shake off! Moreover, it provides the best snap-shot of Soul Q’s soothing and gracefully-toned vocals. “Q Funk” shows just how seamless and compelling the compositions on this CD are, mixing a jazzy bass and guitar line with an overlaying rock guitar solo. Furthermore, slick analogies and elegant rhymes build the lyrical foundation of these loveable tunes! Fans of groovy rock, spicy jazz, and good-old funk and bands such as The Dave Matthews Band will surely welcome “Settle and Rush” with open arms, and ears!-Xavier P. (for RadioIndy)
