Soundgazer is a Toronto based act whose style is characterized by a unique blend of synthesizers and guitars layered with harmony vocals. Danceable beats, catchy melodies, and diversely influenced compositions further underpin the band's sound.
The act came to life in the summer of 2007. Soundgazer's initial recordings and live performances were almost entirely electronic and featured an aggressive singing style that was quickly outgrown by its members. While retaining fundamental electro elements, Soundgazer soon incorporated clean vocals and a more dominant guitar presence, creating the style now associated with the act.
Formulating this sound has often made genre classification difficult; though loosely applied, “synth rock” is a common affiliation for the band. |
